This immersive workshop is designed for doulas, midwives, and birth professionals ready to deepen their connection to traditional birth practices and intuitive support. Through guided, hands-on training, you will learn how to use the rebozo—a traditional Mexican shawl—as a versatile tool for creating comfort, encouraging movement, and easing labor for pregnant and birthing women.

From gentle rocking to release tension, to movements that help optimal positioning, you’ll gain skills to bring comfort and support to your clients;​

  • Hands-on Learning: Practice each movement, from relaxation and tension release to techniques that aid in fetal positioning, ensuring you feel confident incorporating the rebozo in varied birth settings;​

  • Manteada: Experience the relaxation technique of manteada, a form of gentle rebozo massage that soothes and relaxes, allowing clients to release tension and settle into a deep state of calm;

  • Postpartum Rituals and Recovery: Learn how the rebozo plays a vital role in traditional postpartum care, with techniques to support healing and closure after birth, honoring the mother’s journey and recovery.

Who is this workshop for?
This workshop is ideal for doulas, midwives, birth professionals, and anyone interested in incorporating traditional, hands-on techniques into their practice. Whether you’re experienced or new to rebozo, this workshop offers valuable skills to support women during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum.

Do I need previous experience with rebozo techniques?
No prior experience is necessary! This workshop covers both foundational and advanced techniques, allowing participants of all levels to learn and grow.

What will I learn in the workshop? 
You’ll learn how to use the rebozo for relaxation, optimal fetal positioning, and easing labor discomforts. Topics include manteada, a gentle rebozo massage for relaxation, techniques for managing labor progression, and postpartum uses like the traditional “closing of the bones” ritual. 

Is this an in-person or online workshop? 
Currently, this is an in-person workshop to ensure hands-on practice and real-time guidance. However, future online options may become available—stay tuned!

What is included in the workshop fee?  
The €297 fee includes all training materials, a light lunch, and snacks. You’ll also have access to a comprehensive guide to the techniques covered, which you can refer to as you incorporate rebozo into your practice. It does not include a rebozo but they will be available for sale at the end.

Will I receive a certificate?
I’m not a big fan of certifications, as I view them as a colonial practice. However, if you would like a certificate of completion, I’m happy to provide one.

How long is the workshop? 
The workshop is a full-day event, running from 10:00 to 17:00, offering a comprehensive, immersive experience with ample time for practice and feedback.

What should I bring?  
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for movement. All necessary materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own rebozo if you have one and would like to practice with it.

Can I use these techniques immediately with my clients? 
Yes! The rebozo techniques taught in this workshop are designed to be practical and immediately applicable, giving you the tools to integrate them confidently into your practice.
