Postpartum doula

Birth is one of the most powerful rites of passage a woman can experience—an initiation that forever transforms her body, her spirit, and her place in the world. Yet this sacred threshold doesn’t end when the baby is born. The postpartum period is a direct continuation of that journey, carrying the imprints of birth into the delicate unfolding of early motherhood. This is a time of immense change: hormonally, physically, emotionally, and relationally. The body is healing, the heart is stretching, and a new identity is anchoring itself.

Without mindful preparation and support, this phase can feel overwhelming and invisible. But when honored as part of the birth continuum, postpartum becomes a time for deep rest, nourishment, and integration. It’s not just about surviving those first weeks—it’s about being held, witnessed, and supported as you embody the fullness of your transformation. Planning for postpartum is a radical act of self-love and ancestral remembering. You were never meant to walk this path alone.

Thinking about all of this—this sacred continuum from birth into postpartum, and the deep care it calls for—I offer postpartum doula services as a natural extension of my work as a birth doula and placenta medicine practitioner. Just as I walk beside you through the power of birth, I am here to hold you in the tender, often underestimated landscape that follows. My postpartum care is rooted in nourishment, ritual, and presence, honoring the unique needs of your healing body, your shifting emotions, and your expanding identity. This is holistic support designed not just to help you cope, but to help you thrive—because your well-being matters every bit as much as your baby's.

Post partum services

Emotional Support & Birth Integration

In the days and weeks after birth, emotions often arrive in waves—sometimes gentle, sometimes overwhelming. I offer a grounded, nonjudgmental space where you can share your story, process your birth experience, and be deeply heard. These sessions are a place for reflection, affirmation, and emotional nourishment, so you feel witnessed and held as you step into motherhood.

Breastfeeding Support

Whether you are navigating the first latch or facing challenges weeks in, I offer personalized, practical breastfeeding support to help you build a strong, nourishing bond with your baby. From positioning and supply to emotional reassurance, I walk beside you with evidence-based wisdom and ancestral knowing to support this sacred act of nourishment.

Postpartum Planning & Rhythm Support

In a time when everything feels new, I help you gently organize your days around rest, bonding, and healing. We co-create a rhythm that honors your body’s recovery, supports your baby’s needs, and protects your energy. This is not about rigid schedules—but about crafting a postpartum flow that sustains and soothes you.

Energy Work & Energetic Alignment

Postpartum is not only a physical transition—it’s an energetic one. Through gentle, intuitive energy work, I support the clearing, grounding, and rebalancing of your energetic field. Whether you are feeling fragmented, overwhelmed, or simply in need of deeper alignment, this practice can help you return to your center. Each session is unique, guided by what your body and spirit are calling for in that moment. Energy work is integrated into our visits when needed, offering a layer of care that goes beyond words—supporting your healing on the unseen, yet deeply felt, level.

Infant Care Guidance

From newborn bathing and diapering to understanding your baby’s cues, I offer calm, confidence-building support in early baby care. My guidance is always centered on your intuition and choices, empowering you to feel capable, connected, and attuned to your baby.

Herbal & Holistic Postpartum Support

I bring together ancestral plant knowledge and modern science to support your healing. From herbal sitz baths, yoni steaming and teas to lactation-supporting remedies and mood-balancing infusions, I tailor gentle, effective herbal care to your unique postpartum body and spirit.

Placenta Medicine Integration

For mothers who choose to encapsulate or prepare their placenta as medicine, I provide intentional guidance on how to use this sacred remedy during your postpartum. I help you align its use with your needs—be it energy, emotional balance, or hormonal support—always within a respectful, rooted framework. Placenta encapsulation and other remedies are charged separately.

Partner & Family Guidance

Postpartum is a family transition. I support your partner or loved ones in understanding your needs, the mother-baby bond, and how to show up in ways that truly nourish and protect your space. This can ease tension, build connection, and help everyone feel aligned in their roles.

Postpartum Rituals & Ceremonies

Ritual brings meaning and closure to each phase of our transformation. I offer gentle, symbolic postpartum rituals—such as “closing the bones”, guided reflection ceremonies, herbal baths, and sacred space clearings—to honor your journey and support your emotional and spiritual integration. The "closing of the bones" with the rebozo ceremony is charged separately.

Trusted Referrals

If your postpartum journey calls for additional care—pelvic floor therapy, lactation consultation, or mental health support—I connect you with a trusted circle of professionals aligned with your values and your vision for holistic well-being.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a birth doula and a postpartum doula?
A birth doula supports you during pregnancy and birth, offering continuous physical and emotional presence through labor. A postpartum doula steps in after the birth—holding space for your healing, helping with breastfeeding, offering newborn care guidance, and supporting your emotional and spiritual integration as a new mother. I am both a birth and postpartum doula, which means you can count on me to walk with you through the entire journey—from the sacred initiation of birth into the unfolding of postpartum.

How soon after birth do postpartum visits start?
Postpartum support can begin as early as the first day after birth, depending on your needs. Some mothers prefer immediate care, while others invite me into their space after the first few days or once the baby blues begin to surface. We’ll discuss your ideal timing during our preparation together.

Do you support families after both home births and hospital births?
Absolutely. Whether you birthed at home, in a birthing center, or in a hospital, your postpartum space deserves sacred, nurturing support. I adapt to your environment and your story with full presence.

What if I had a challenging or traumatic birth?
Postpartum integration is especially important after a difficult or unexpected birth. I’ve walked that path myself—I experienced a traumatic birth, and I know the layers it can carry. I offer gentle emotional support, birth story processing, and grounding rituals to help you make meaning of your experience and begin to heal—not just physically, but also emotionally and energetically.

Do you offer night support or sleep help?
No, I only offer daytime postpartum support.

Are placenta remedies and the closing the bones ceremony included in your postpartum doula package?
Placenta remedies and the closing the bones ceremony are sacred offerings and are charged separately due to the materials, preparation, and time they require. These can be added to your postpartum journey based on your needs and desires.

How many postpartum visits do you recommend?
This depends on your vision for support. Some mothers feel held with just a few key visits, while others benefit from a longer container of care. We can shape a package that feels nourishing and aligned for you—whether that’s one visit or several weeks of ongoing support.

Can my partner or other family members be involved in your visits?
Yes, and they are warmly welcome. Part of my role is to support your whole household in adapting to this new chapter. I help partners understand your needs, bond with baby, and step into their role with confidence and care.

Do you offer virtual postpartum support?
Yes. If you're outside my local area or prefer remote support, I offer online postpartum sessions for emotional integration, herbal guidance, breastfeeding support, and ritual facilitation.
