Mama Blessing

A Mama Blessing is a beautiful gathering created to honor and celebrate the mother as she prepares for birth. Inspired by traditional blessingway ceremonies, this ritual centers the woman, surrounding her with love, encouragement, and support as she approaches this powerful transition. It is a moment for friends and loved ones to come together, share blessings, and acknowledge the strength, wisdom, and transformation of becoming a mother.

Mama Blessings are usually held with a small group of close friends and family, creating an intimate and supportive space for the mother-to-be. The gathering typically lasts between 2 and 3 hours and may include meditation, sharing circles, symbolic rituals, nourishing food, and other meaningful elements depending on the wishes of the mother and the atmosphere she would like to create.

Pregnancy is a powerful threshold in a woman’s life, and a Mama Blessing offers the space to pause, gather in love, and celebrate the journey into motherhood.

Disclaimer

I work as an independent celebrant and ceremony facilitator, and my work is not tied to any specific religion or spiritual tradition. My training was completed through the School of Celebrancy, run by the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids (OBOD), an organization dedicated to honoring nature-based traditions and the art of meaningful ceremony.

While this background informs my approach, each ceremony is created with complete openness and respect for the people it is meant for. The language, symbols, and rituals can be adapted to reflect your personal beliefs, cultural background, and the intentions you wish to bring into the moment.

My role is simply to help hold a meaningful space where your story, your connection, and your celebration can unfold with authenticity, care, and presence.
